These past few months, I've really been enjoying reading these celebrity profiles on Perfectly Imperfect. If you haven't heard of it, it is an app that is a little bit of every early 2000s app that allows users to scream into a void. Think: Live Journal x Tumblr x Myspace x Instagram all combined into a little app. It's great, but actually quite overwhelming because it is just another social media app trying to convince users that it's different from all of these apps (I know I sound sarcastic, but I will be giving the app another try.)
Before it became an app, it was just a newsletter that emailed out interviews from different celebrities about their favorite things called "A Taste of Someone's Taste". However, because it is trying to appeal to Gen Zers, the celebs are very niche. Think of your favorite It Girl or White Boy of the Month...They've probably interviewed them. They're super cool!
Today's post is all about favorites. I know I have a little widget on the side of the blog to tell people about what I am into this month, but I thought I'd go a little more in depth for folks that do not know me too well (Perfectly Imperfect-style; Please don't sue me 😣)
Cool people like cool things, which is why we asked Kennedy to share a taste of their taste on Trashburn Diaries.
Kennedy is a Chicago native who actually lives in the city proper (albeit very far north). You can catch them cramming for the final year of their graduate program for Library Science or at the local AMC theaters with their fellow A-List Entourage crew checking out the latest hit movie. They do have a book called Racial Literacy in Libraries releasing in 2026, which they talk about all things library and racial equity. Lucky for us, Kennedy is here to tell us what they've been into (in no particular order.)

Nancy Drew CD roms: I recently went on an adult scavenger hunt to find all 26 flavors of Cutwater canned cocktails. I did not achieve this and only found 13 Cutwaters. This is far too many, but the experience did teach me something, and that is patience, which I enjoyed. So I have now extended this to another challenge: finding all 34 Nancy Drew video games. So far, I have collected six games and it has been quite an adventure going into random Goodwills and video game resale shops. I think I will chat more about the games in another post and eventually add a little widget to a page where I keep track of my progress with the challenge. I will update this post later when that is complete.

The Pitt on HBO: I have been in my TV watching bag lately. The Pitt was my biggest obsession last year and now my Thursday nights are complete. The Pitt is a hospital procedural that follows employees at an ER. Each episode is an hour into a shift at the hospital. Its like Greys Anatomy if the employees behaved like actual hospital workers and not teenagers. There's drama, of course, but so much of it is about their professional duties and patients that the staff encounter rather than their romantic lives. It does feel very true to life (as per the medical professionals in my life), so I highly recommend a watch and that you join Pitt Nation, stat!
Iced Dunkalattes: Its ridiculously sweet, but that is just how I like my coffee. It was previously a limited item, but now it has returned FOR GOOD. It is basically just a latte with coffee milk instead of espresso. My order is a medium, ice Dunkalatte with brown sugar syrup and sweet cold foam. Try it out and let me know what you think (at your own risk.)
Karaoke: This deserves a post of its own, which it will get, but I have been to karaoke twice in the last few weeks. I am going next weekend to celebrate a friends birthday as well. There's just something about getting really silly and singing a few songs with some pals. I am used to singing in my shower, but its nice to have people to sing along with.
Mission Carb Balance Tortillas: I promise they aren't as bad as they sound. I am just nearing pre-diabetic status, so I am trying to cut carbs where I can. Ignore my Dunkin' order.

What are you enjoying this month, or in general? Anything I should give a try? Give me a little taste of your taste in the comments below.
Happy Reading!
